About the Role

Seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead estimating across our utilities maintenance and minor works portfolio.
This role focuses on long-term maintenance programs, panel contracts and renewals — not major one-off projects. You will lead a small team of estimators (including graduates), ensuring disciplined, accurate and commercially sound tender submissions.

Working closely with technical SMEs and operational leaders, you will translate engineering scope into practical, competitive pricing models.

Team: 3–4 Direct Reports
Location: Brisbane

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and review all estimating and tender submissions

  • Oversee BOQs, first-principles rate builds and risk pricing

  • Allocate tender workload across the estimating team

  • Support contract renewals and negotiated opportunities

  • Mentor and develop junior estimators and graduates

  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes and Excel models

  • Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams


Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Finance/Commercial background

  • 7–12+ years’ experience in utilities or infrastructure estimating

  • Experience pricing projects in the $5M–$50M range

  • Strong maintenance or panel contract exposure preferred

  • Advanced Excel capability

  • Proven experience leading small teams (3–5 people)

  • Collaborative, pragmatic and commercially disciplined
